Czechia to host Iranian animation ‘Stars in the Rain’

Iranian animation ‘Stars in the Rain’ has been selected to compete at the 61st edition of the Zlin Film Festival in the Czech Republic.

Directed by Sara Namjou, the animation is about little miracles in daily life that makes it possible to tolerate the hardships.

“The main characters of the animation are two children but it targets a vast range of audience,” Namjou said.

She also believes participating in the international festivals is a great opportunity for filmmakers to boost their self-confidence.

Sina Amiri and Farzaneh Haqiqat are the animators of the title.

According to the official website of the Zlin Film Festival, “It is the oldest and largest film festival of its kind in the world. This is a significant international event which has an excellent reputation and holds lots of respect”.

The 2021 edition of the event will be held on September 9-15.
